About the signers:

The 1982 Chicago Bears laid the foundation for one of the most dominant teams in NFL history, featuring a young core that included Mike Ditka, Walter Payton, Mike Singletary, Dan Hampton, and emerging stars on an aggressive defense and the rookie year of QB Jim McMahon. Despite a strike-shortened season, the toughness, coaching philosophy, and roster continuity established in 1982 directly evolved into the legendary 1985 Bears, who captured Super Bowl XX and redefined defensive football.
