From the Steve Grad Autograph Collection comes an exceptionally rare handwritten and signed one-page letter from Burnell Tucker (1930–2019), an actor with memorable background roles in both Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) and The Empire Strikes Back (1980).

Dated July 13, 2006, Tucker writes to collector Steve Grad, noting his work in both Star Wars and Empire. In his candid letter, he explains that when he performed his roles, he had “no name” and was not sure what character names were assigned later. This personal note captures the perspective of a lesser-known but important actor from the original trilogy.

• Appeared in Star Wars: A New Hope as Del Goren, a Rebel Fleet Trooper, and in The Empire Strikes Back as Wyron Serper, a Rebel Officer.

• His career also included appearances in films such as Omen III: The Final Conflict and Never Say Never Again.

• Tucker passed away in 2019, making his authentic autographs increasingly scarce.

• He was a non-existent signer at conventions and shows, and by around 2010 he had stopped responding to fan mail — making his signature one of the most elusive and highly sought-after among Star Wars collectors.
