From the Steve Grad Autograph Collection – a rare 8x10 black-and-white photograph from Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, showing Kit West on the set of the famous Marion’s Bar sequence alongside Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones). This photo is signed boldly in blue by Kit West, legendary special effects supervisor.
This signature was obtained in person by Steve Grad at a private signing in July 2015 – notably, Kit West’s only and final private signing. West passed away just nine months later, making his autograph exceptionally scarce and highly desirable.
About Kit West:
Kit West (1936–2016) was a British Academy Award-winning special effects supervisor.
He won an Oscar for Best Visual Effects for his work on Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981).
West also worked on Return of the Jedi, contributing to the unforgettable special effects of the Star Wars saga.
His long career spanned numerous other major productions, cementing his legacy as one of the premier effects supervisors in cinema history.
Rarity & Importance:
This photo is a true on-set piece of history, showing West in the thick of the action while bringing to life one of the film’s most iconic sequences.
Being his final and only private signing, authenticated examples like this are rare.
With his passing in 2016, this represents a finite autograph source, adding to its long-term collector appeal.
